SPAC Freshwater Classic - Big River

About the event
Here is the plan:
Ragzie and I will be leaving Friday afternoon to get the camp set up in day light, you are welcome to join us or arrive Saturday morning. I have 2 spare spots in my car.
How to get there.
We will be camping along the big river arm at Chaffe Creek in swags and tents (see page 2 for map.) Chaffe Creek Campground is in google maps for directions. The camp is accessible with standard 2WD cars and caravans.
We plan to fish from the banks and in streams with spinners and small body hard lures, or for those more talented a fly rod.
Suggested fishing equipment:
Rods, 6’ to 8’ with a 2000-3000 reel fitted with 6lb mono. Braid is not so good as it remains highly visible to the fish.
A bunch of lures and spinners. Celta spinners size 2 to 3 or alternate brands. Small hard body lures about 50mm long. Snap swivels for quick change of lures.
If you need help have a chat to your local BCF or give me a call. If you haven’t done a lot of freshwater fishing, I can lend you a rod and reel before you out lay money for something you might not use again.
Waders if you plan to walk the shallows.
Suggested Camping Gear:
Swag, warm sleeping bag, pillow, small tarp. Or Tent, stretcher, warm sleeping bag, pillow.
Camp chair, small table, small esky / Car fridge, plate, KFS, cup, food and drinks
Group Equipment Supplied:
Fish Scales, Chainsaw, Fire dog/hot plate, Large tarp for shelter, Coffee Pot, 40lts of drinking/cooking water, Trailer.
