On the fishing calendar coming up in February is an excursion to the waratah Bay Area. This is a wonderful part of Victoria with many fishing options available. With the shallow inlet entering into Waratah Bay provides access to the ocean with Wilsons Promontory just a 20-minute run via boat.

About the event
Plenty of fishing options available. I have been working recently around these islands including Shellback, Norman Island and the great Glennie
Group and the amount of bait fish and surface activity from tuna schools and other fish was very exciting. The potential for kingfish from the deeper surrounding waters is also an exciting option.
Other options if you want something a little more sedate is to fish inside shallow inlet where the run of the mill Flathead, Whiting, and salmon etc are available. Shallow inlet is such a pristine and beautiful place 2 fish and enjoy. Whilst there is no boat ramp as such it is very hard sand and beach launching is very achievable. When working here we launch a 23-foot craft with no issues. Also close by and a short drive is Walkerville South which also has beach launching for small craft and the fishing here also has…
